*Antibiotic prices range from $15-60 depending on the type and dosage.
Some injuries and illness require you to bring in your kitty right away: Difficulty urinating, pain when you hold/touch her, cuts and wounds, fatigue, loss of appetite, broken limbs, and more.
Critical/Urgent Care Exams are $74.99

Our hospital offers both in-house and external lab work. Diagnostics range from Chemistry blood panels to digital radiology. *Since Goodcat Veterinary Hospital is a nonprofit, we are able to offer diagnostics at a lower cost.

How old does my cat need to be to get fixed?
Yes, appointments are necessary for spay/neuters. Call us at (661) 214-3002 to schedule your appointment or use the form below.
How does the spay/neuter appointment process work?
Check-in/drop off is at 7 a.m. the day of your cat’s surgery/ You must be here by no later than 7:30 a.m. Surgery pick up is same day. It is important that you pick-up your cat promptly at the time given by the nurse, we do not house pets overnight.
Will my cat need to stay overnight?
No. Our hospital does not offer overnight care for spay/neuters. If you do not pick up your kitty at the given time by the nurse, an overnight fee will be added on to their invoice.
Does my pet have to be current on its vaccines in order to have surgery?
No. Your cat does not need to be vaccinated prior to surgery. If your kitty does need initial or booster vaccines, they can receive them on the day of their surgery.
What types of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, credit cards or debit cards. We do not accept personal checks. We also accept spay/neuter vouchers from Kern County Animal Services, The Cat People, and Kern Humane Society.
How old does my pet need to be in order to be spayed or neutered?
The age requirement for surgery is 16 weeks & weighing at least 4 pounds.
Are there risks with spay/neuters?
With any surgical procedure there is always risk, but we take every step possible to minimize risks for your pets. Pets are constantly monitored by hand or with specialized monitoring equipment during surgery.
How frequently will my cat go into heat?
Cats generally experience their first heat at around 4-5 months of age and will repeatedly cycle unless spayed or impregnated.
Can litter mates get pregnant?
Will neutering my male cat stop him from spraying?
How frequently will my cat go into heat?
If your male cat is neutered before he begins spraying, the chances decrease for him to spray. If he is already in the habit of spraying, chances are unlikely that the neutering will completely eliminate this behavior.
Spay/Neuter Surgeries take place Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday mornings by Appointment only. Drop off between 7-8 am. Surgeries are Same day pick-up.
All pet’s must come into the hospital in a secure travel carrier for their safety.
